the c*ck down the block by amy award — a review

WHAT A BOOK! I MEAN WHAT A BOOK!!
And a moment for the cover too. *GORGEOUS*

This book has all the fun, wit, love and laughs. You better believe me when I tell you that this is probably one of the most fun books I have ever read.

Chris is the man of any girl’s dream. He is a footballer who has been in love with his childhood friend for TEN years. He is smart, family-oriented, and only has eyes for her. While I loved him, the one who really stood out for me was Trixie — a curvy girl who is the most beautiful inside out. She has my heart! She is smart, she is witty, she is confident, she is THE QUEEN.

The things I really loved in this book (even though I loved every single bit of it):

  • the family dynamics — Chris has six brothers and a sister. Their parents have embodied such beautiful values in them and I was really touched by the way all of them support each other.

  • Trixie’s confidence and wit… omg I AM A FAN.

  • How the author wrote about body positivity, bullies, online trolling, I mean… Amy Award NAILED IT.

  • Chris and Trixie’s chemistry and those spicy scenes *ahem* *ahem*

  • All the side characters are absolutely perfect. (Especially Trixie’s mum)

  • The names of the chapters are so fun

  • The star of the show, LUKE SKYCOCKER (aka the rooster) and his chicks.

Amy Award has a very different way of writing, but it’s different in a very fun way. The words, the vibes, the scenes — everything is so breezy and witty while still including some sensitive topics, too. She covered all of them so beautifully.

I guess I can’t even describe how good it is; you have to read it. YOU. HAVE. GOT. TO.
